Management skills are applied in our daily life. Henry Fayol has categorized management into four major roles: planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating and controlling. These elements are necessary as they spell success or failure of any organization. Therefore, managers should understand Fayol’s four functions of management in order to succeed in their organizations.This essay analyzes two companies and how effectively or ineffectively they have utilized Fayol’s four functions in their management roles. These companies are Coca-Cola and Cott Beverage Corporation. Consequently, this essay will compare and contrast how the management of these two companies have utilized or failed to utilize Fayol’s four functions in their operations.
