Mark Twain said that ” The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is about a sound heart and a deformed conscience that came into collision, and the conscience suffers defeat. ” This statement is true because there were a few times where his conscience was bothering him and he decided to listen to his emotions.
The first time this happened it was about whether Huck should help Jim escape, Huck even though he wasn’t the reason Jim escaped he didn’t do anything to stop it. Huck felt bad because Jim was Miss Watson’s slave and she was very good to him.
The other example i found and the most important one was after Huck the letter to Miss Watson about where Jim was he changed his mind and said “All right, then, Ill go to hell.” and proceded to tear up the letter.
